The Heart of Implementation: Trust, Communication, and Teamwork

Session Information

In December 2024, the Maricopa Community Colleges (MCCCD)-a District Office and 10 college libraries-successfully migrated from Symphony/360 Summon to Alma Primo VE. But what happens when your library migration team is missing key roles like a Systems Librarian, Metadata Specialist, E-Resources Expert, or Library-Designated Developer? For MCCCD, the answer was simple: lean into what is working. This session will explore how the MCCCD implementation team overcame these gaps by leveraging their greatest strengths-trust, open communication, and inclusive collaboration. Through practical strategies and real examples, attendees will learn how to embrace their team's unique assets to achieve a successful migration, even in the face of challenges. If your library team feels unprepared or uncertain about tackling a major systems migration, this session will provide insights and encouragement to show that success is possible with the right mindset and approach.
