As part of a reorganization strategy in July 2022, Clemson University Libraries established multiple cross-functional teams to improve communication and promote accountability across the large library system. This session will focus on our Discovery Cross-Functional Team, which works on Alma and Primo VE enhancements and projects, as well as our Collection Strategies Cross-Functional Team, which focuses on building our collection and assessing resources. Each cross-functional team includes representation from different departments within the library, diversifying the membership and ensuring that the right people are in the room based on their job duties. Often, one change can impact another functional group, so this structure allows each department to understand the effects of any changes. By the end of this session, attendees will leave with new ideas for effectively communicating library decisions across multiple departments.
