Streamlining Analytics Reports to Provide Library Collections Data to ACRL, IPEDS, and ARL

Session Information

Each year North American research libraries are tasked with completing Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), and American Research Libraries (ARL) surveys. Ready-made reports and dashboards for these industry standard reports in Analytics Shared Folders are counterintuitive and require selecting options from multiple drop down menus. My goal was to streamline this process by designing reports to support a single prompt dashboard to provide data for the Library Collections sections of the surveys. This session will describe the process for designing the reports, crosswalking terms from the surveys to Alma Analytics filters, and strategies for overcoming the challenges that were encountered along the way.

Alma

At the end of the session, participants will be able to identify crosswalks between the requirements of the ACRL, IPEDS, and ARL surveys and the metadata in Alma Analytics.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to design Alma Analytics reports that streamline the data collection for the ACRL, IPEDS, and ARL surveys.
