Tired of hearing "Nobody ever told me that!" when students try to return a Reserves book, and it was due three hours ago? We sure were! So we decided to create an electronic agreement for students to "sign" (by checking a box) and then submit using their email address, which would write a note on their patron account that they had signed, along with a timestamp. While we don't expect this to hold up in court, we do hope that this will help keep students more accountable (and aware). We envision expanding this to other agreements we currently handle using filed papers, such as laptop checkouts.
