Across the CUNY Libraries, we had two related issues: librarians and library staff with an interest in programming and improving Alma workflows that were sometimes working in a vacuum; and libraries with issues that could best be solved with a bit of programming know-know and the Alma APIs. In 2024, under the leadership of CUNY's Office of Library Services, a task force was established to bring those of us with an interest in programming and workflow improvements together to solve issues affecting libraries across CUNY. This presentation will discuss our structure as well as some of the projects we've completed so far, which include a web app to view shared electronic collections and scripts to clean up item and user details.
