Expectations matter. Library users expect the same level of service that they receive in their daily lives from retail or banking, online and in-person. Your users want access to material, whether the library owns or subscribes to it. Offering a predictable and reliable ILL service is the heart of meeting their expectations. As budgets shrink, you must do more with less. Advocating for ILL services within your library enables access to and partnership in a collective collection that can meet your users' needs with a just-in-time vs. just-in-case model. ILL is dependent on strong partnerships and collaboration, something librarians do very well and is what is at the heart of resource sharing. This session will explore advocating for ILL services within your library, to your users, and in your wider library community.
