Has a colleague ever told you that you can complete a task in Alma, but you just can't seem to figure out where to click or how to get to the same screen they see? It could be because your colleague has different roles assigned to their account. This presentation will outline how librarians at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga conducted an audit of roles assigned to library faculty, staff, and even student Alma operators in an attempt to better streamline onboarding processes, codify a consistent application of roles across varied employee positions, and better protect library data and patron privacy. Attendees will leave this presentation with a better understanding of roles and the complex privilege sets that underlie them in Alma, how to apply roles if you are a new Alma user, and how to conduct an audit of current users in your library.
