Managing an Alma Migration Project: Mind the knowledge gaps and milestone uncertainties

Session Information

Throughout an Alma migration project, there are crucial milestones that require informed decision-making. Coming into the migration process it is easy to get overwhelmed by everything we don't know or don't understand. Adding to the stress is how much we have to complete before we go live. By having a better understanding of the process, timeline, and requirements, a migration team can focus on the most important activities. This session will make you aware of what questions you should ask, what data you should collect, and what activities are the most crucial so that you can celebrate each milestone and be ready for its aftermath. After completing our migrations in 2024, we reflected on what was most effective and where we lost focus. Attend this session for more insights on maximizing your Ex Libris project team meetings and preparing for what happens during each Alma migration phase.
