In 2020, the University of Nebraska Libraries consortium adopted Alma and Primo while experiencing the retirement of key personnel, leading to the loss of historical knowledge and the development of a hodgepodge of processes for managing internal user roles. To address this, a small team developed policies and procedures to reduce ambiguities, improve communication, and enhance data security. This session shares how we accomplished this and provides guidance for creating and implementing internal user management guidelines in the Alma Institution Zone and Network Zone. It focuses on defining, assigning, and managing roles to ensure access aligns with job responsibilities, emphasizing policy development, documentation, and audits, all based on the Principle of Least Privilege.
